Detailed description of Rolling S Golf Club

Rolling "S" Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Waterloo, South Carolina.

The Rolling S golf course first opened in 1970. The course was designed by Cotton Simms. Redesign work has been made by Don Salyers.

In 1969, Naomi and Cotton Simms came to Waterloo, SC with a vision. It was here on an old goat farm that they saw the promise of its beautiful rolling hills. They built and founded Rolling S Golf Club here. It’s name comes from the wonderful rolling hills that make up the course and provides the beauty and serenity of our quiet natural surroundings.

In May 2000, Don Salyers took over as owner and redesigned Rolling S Golf Club into the beautiful 18 holes course it is today. The par-72 course features 11 holes where water comes into play, with five par 3 holes, eight par 4 holes, and five par 5 holes. It measures 6,477 yards from the back tees, 6,071 from the white tees, 5,439 from the gold tees, and 5,118 from the red tees. This 6500 yard layout, and the ponds make your golf game more challenging.

Shortly after taking over Don Salyers began the renovations by adding 10-12 bunkers and lakes, increasing the water hazards to “add some character to the course”. One major change took place at the 14th hole, where two ponds were added, with one of them coming into play from the back tees. In addition, about 200 yards were added to the length of the course.
